Congratulations on your engagement to be married!

It is a privilege that you are considering Glenn UMC for your wedding, one of life’s happiest and most sacred of events. Weddings bring with them the opportunity for great celebration and a glimpse of the love God has for any one of us. Many special occasions take place in our Sanctuary and Little Chapel, but weddings are among the most joyous; honoring, sanctifying, and celebrating the God-given love shared by two people.

Glenn Memorial UMC is a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network. We believe that the love shared between any two people is honored by God. With our location on the Emory University campus, we are grateful that we are able to welcome to our worship venues the marriage between all couples. Currently, the denominational guidelines of The United Methodist Church prohibit United Methodist clergy from officiating same-sex marriages. Glenn Church believes this is unjust and contrary to the teachings of Jesus, but despite this restriction, we invite all people to our worship venues. We welcome the coordination with visiting clergy or other sanctioned officials whom you would have officiate your wedding ceremony.
